Minxsters scrim

Yesterday the Black Hearts travelled to York to enjoy a fun scrim with the York Minxsters. It was a great opportunity for our now captains to lead us on to the track with Martha Scarkill (Captain) and Beccaroo (Vice Captain) making their debut in their new roles. We had some friends with us for the day as we were honoured to have two awesome skaters from the Hallam Hellcats guest skating with us (thanks you two!). The scrim was a very close and hard thought game with the Black Hearts leading by just one point up until the final jam. A power jam in the final jam sealed it for the MIxsters though…

It has been a fun packed weekend for the Black Hearts as we enjoyed a friendly & fun scrim on the 15th March with the Hallam Hellcats who are busy preparing for the British Championships.

On the 28th February the Barnsley Black Heart Roller’s travelled to Mansfield to help the Misfits celebrate their 3rd birthday in true derby style by sharing love & shoves and giving derby kisses on the track! Another Black Heart made her debut by participating in the scrim – welcome to the track Hannabelle! Barnsley Black Heart Rollers Vs. Haunted City Roller Girls

The Black Hearts took a trip to Derby at the weekend to play in an open bout against the Haunted City Roller Girls. This was the first bout of 2015 for the Black Hearts and the start of a very busy few months. The bout was an excellent opportunity for Barnsley to showcase some of their newer players with Profiteroller & Bootstrap Lill taking to the track to make their public debut.

Training Session with Florence The Machine & Giggity

We'd like to say a huge Thank You to Florence The Machine and Giggity from Lincolnshire Rolling Thunder who came to train us this weekend. 

Florence led a two hour training session; which left us aching all over! 

Hallam Hellcats Rookie Bootcamp

Super Well Done to the Black Hearts who attended the Hallam Hellcats Rookie Bootcamp on Saturday!

A great time was had by all; a training session with Doug Hisgrave followed by a scrim.

And Blacks Hearts walked away with 4 out of 6 awards!

New Head Coach Announced

We are excited to announce that we have new Head Coach! Roller Polar Bear has retired from The Inhuman League and is taking up position as the Head Coach of the Barnsley Black Heart Rollers.

Team Captain Block Widow said "This is great news for the team as we will benefit from his expertice and experience". 

Bear is "Happy and Honoured" to be joining us and is looking forward to "making Barnsley a team that's ethos is fun, enjoyment and hard work"...... "EXCELSIOR"!!!!!
